In a statement made in Clara Young's immigration file (NAA(Vic), B13/0, 1917/3260) Harry Arthur Lay states that he took this photograph and that the account for the photograph (possibly multiple copies) which came to £40.

    Published photograph in newspaper. Caption: 'PROSPEROUS CHINESE MINER. En Young Fun (English name, George Young) came to Australia in 1857. After many diggings ups and downs he settled in Eaglehawk, and commenced and still continues the treatment of tailings successfully. His elder brother having died six months ago, he returns, at his father's request, to China to manage the family property. He is highly respected in Eaglehawk district for his uprightness and integrity. His family consists of Clara (11 years), Willie (9), Harry (7), May (5), Lily (3), and Frank (13 months).'
