- Summary
Ah Lee probably lived in rural New South Wales in the 1870s. A note on the back of one of the Holterman photogaphs suggests that he may have been associated with Sun Tong Lee General Store in Gulgong. However the link between the well dressed Chinese man standing outside the store and the portrait of Ah Lee is not convincing on a visual basis. While it could be the same man, the man infront of the store does not appear to have a moustache.
