Summary

Mew Chun is identified on the back of a photograph but the text might actually read 'new chum', a colloquial term for a new digger on the gold fields. Mew Chun appears to have had some assocation with Mrs Smith as the photograph is identified as belonging to her. He probably lived in rural New South Wales in the 1870s.
