    Title
Chinese procession & the Chinese Citizen's Archway, Swanston Street, Melbourne, during the commemoration of the Duke of York's visit to open the first Australian Parliament, 1901.
    Description

The banner in picture is held in the Chinese Museum collection. It is the See Yup Society's banner. The uniforms worn by some of the men in the picture may also be the same uniforms as ones held by the Museum or very similar. On the basis of the banner it might be assumed to be a See Yup society parade. The dragon that follows the banner is more than likely the See Yup Society's dragon.
