- Summary
Mary Munting was originally from Ireland and the daughter of a tailor. She married Wah Sin (Sing), a 34 year old miner at the Baptist Church, York St, Launceston on 5 May 1879. The couple had three daughters - Mary, May and Florence. Mary Munting is believed to have had a nervous breakdown and was put into an asylum in Launceston sometime between 1890 and her death at New Norfolk Hospital on 13 May 1903.
