- Description
The neat and orderly Chinese section at Geraldton (later Innisfail) about 1900. The Chinese provided vital labour as scrub fellers, cane cutters and carriers, and railway navvies. A Chinese mercantile quarter - stores and joss house - had emerged at Geraldton by the late 1880s.
