The image depicts Chinese farm workers harvesting tobacco, possibly in the Tumut area. Three Chinese men are depicted in the centre of the image. They are carrying poles on their shoulders which are loaded with tobacco leaves. The land immediately around the men is completely cleared. A crop, possibly tobacco can be seen in the background of the image. A forested area is depicted in the far background and a building can also be seen in this area. The faint outline of mountains can also be seen in the far background of the image.
