    Description

Taken in the Kong Chew Society building before it was demolished. The more ornate vase, incense burners and also pillar plaque (curved panel that wraps around pillar and can be removed) still exist in their new rooms but in a different arrangement to this photograph. The large portrait is probably of Guan Gong the warrior. The couplets were written and presented by Liang Qichao.

Man second from left is probably Wang Siu Lan. The others are currently unidentified.

The table is a table tennis table. On the side says [???] by Melbourne Sports Depot’. It could be ‘donated by’.

Papers on desk looks like how Chinese newspapers are organised for public reading. They are bound down one side and then have a wooden stick to divide or hold pages with.
