According to his Dubbo prison record Ah Check was born in China in 1838 and arrived in Australia in 1854. At the time of his arrest he was described as a labouer and Church of England in faith. In Dubbo County Court on 14 April 1904 he was found guilty of murder and was the last man to hang at Dubbo Gaol on 28 June 1904.
